Casey Stadium supports 16 Days of Activism

November 30, 2018

This year Casey Stadium will take part and support ‘16 Days of Activism’, a global campaign raising awareness around violence against women.

The international initiative runs from Sunday 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women until Monday 10th December, the International Human Rights Day.

Throughout the 16-day campaign, the Stadium alongside Windermere, will be taking part in the ‘Clothesline Project’ which is an initiative sought to bring a visual representation to the women survivors and loved ones of victims as an expression of their experiences, thoughts and feelings.

It is an opportunity for the victims and the community to express their emotions by decorating a shirt, which are then hung on a clothesline to be viewed by others as a testimony to the problem of violence against women. The t-shirts will be displayed in the piazza area at the Stadium throughout the 16 days.

This project provides a powerful step towards helping survivors break the silence that has surrounded their experiences.
